Anastacia Drake, 500 RYT, RPYT

I am a certified therapeutic yoga specialist. I work with many women who are trying to regain strength, balance, or calm after recovering from an injury, dealing with a disease, struggling with pelvic floor issues, or just wants private instruction because they don't feel comfortable in a regular class. As we grow older, strength and mobility become more important to lead healthy and productive lives. My goal is to help you identify what areas can improve your quality of life and create individualized plans to build you a road map.

With my guidance you’ll learn how to give support to your body and mind through yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices.

My Story

I started my personal journey with yoga to manage my anxiety. As I discovered its benefits, I also used it to recover from hip and knee issues resulting from a car accident.

As my body and mind evolved, I enrolled in a yoga teacher certification program to deepen my practice. My aim was to educate myself and challenge my limits, seeking physical, spiritual, and mental strength and peace.

Throughout the program, I realized the profound impact yoga had on me. My body became more toned, strong, and flexible, and I felt energized and centered. Stressful situations became easier to handle, and my sleep improved. After years of physical therapy and temporary solutions, I found that yoga was the answer, helping me become aware of my weaknesses and teaching me how to strengthen and nurture my entire being.

Noticing my progress, a close friend sought lessons to address her own challenges. We collaborated to create personalized sessions tailored to her goals, and she was thrilled with her results. What began as a personal journey for well-being soon transformed into a desire to share my knowledge. I believe yoga is for everyone, but each person practices it in their own unique way.

In my research, I explored the prenatal and postpartum body and mind. As a mother, I felt a strong connection and wished I had access to this knowledge and support during and after my own pregnancy. I delved into female anatomy, pelvic floor issues, and healing methods before, during, and after pregnancy.

I became passionate about providing yoga tools that cater to individual minds and bodies. I truly believe yoga can benefit everyone, and all it takes is one person who shows up for you, meets you where you are, creates a trusting environment, and supports your unique needs.

I'm a 59 year-old retired RN. Regular exercise was not part of my routine. I became concerned about balance and aging well. I attended a group yoga class, but quickly became discouraged. I couldn't keep up and wasn't confident that I was doing the poses correctly. I decided to give individual yoga classes with Anastacia a try. She custom tailors each session to my needs and always makes sure that I'm diogn the stances safely and correctly. I look forward to each session now, and I am always relaxed AND energized after each class! I can't recommend Anastacia more highly as a knowledgable and effective yoga instructor.

In 2020 I started working with Anastacia online doing Chair Yoga. Gradually I started noticing more stamina. I began to tackle tasks that were seemingly impossible (deep cleaning, decluttering, laundry) in a span of hours rather than days. I am feeling grateful to have built to being able to “work” a bit more during a day (30 minutes up to two hours) without having days of recovery afterward. Taking it slow and pacing myself, I am now beginning Pelvic Floor Yoga with Anastacia and am looking forward to more progress in my strength and stamina.
